There is truth in your lies, doubt in your faith

Shaz FM: In Pieces by Linkin Park
Feeling: Full

Right~ What's new?

Saturday was spent having a quiet day in, until around 1 when we went to pick up Oichi and Chika, our friends from Japan who were down in KL for 2 days. Funny thing happened while we were waiting.

Our car broke down.

XD The funniest thing I thought. I had the craziest idea of wearing high heels so I was kinda suffering a little lol. After we picked them up, we went to the banana leaf shop to eat some local foods. A. Ann went home early that morning and she gave me RM200 \o/ After eating, we went home just to rest. In the evening, we went out a little to show them some of the sights. We stopped at the Padang just to let them take pictures, and it was kinda cool to just stand in the middle of the padang, taking in the air.

The next day was the awesome trek! Well not that awesome, we just went to Batu Caves, and climbed those steps! Oh and Dina got poo'ed on. It went into her hair and tshirt, but its meant to be good luck so good luck to her?

After that, we went to Eest to have dinner. Relaxed at home for a bit then followed mum to Pasar Malam. Monday was a good day. Woke up early to go to Bangsar Village cause Dina's friends were at Celebrity Fitness. Dina and me are kinda hoping to get a membership there, cause the facilities look amazing and the classes are something Im interested in, ranging from Line Dance, Hip Hop, Power Jam and Yoga. There is of course the other stuff available, the decent prices and the closeness of it all. Had lunch with her friends and went to the post office to send Kira's birthday present. She's sent the waffles (don't ask).

In the evening was my interview at RSGC. I was dolled up in a Baju Kebaya and went with dad. It was nerve-wrecking at first, then it got better. Really clicked with a few people so that was cool. Tuesday was spent visiting Tok Mummy and going to Sungei Wang. I've completed my Christmas shopping already lol. Im so happy and I still have a little money over to survive the week (decided to not ask my mum for allowance cause she only gave it to me on friday). I bought a shirt for Adam, a book for my dad, a CD for mum and a necklace for Dina.

And a newsflash. Mum's going for an operation. It's to do with her stomach lining expanding. The lining is the size of a 16-week baby so she needs to go for it. She's decided to go in on the 6th of December, the day after my 18th birthday, which is kinda scary. Not cause its after, but because its only a week away. She'll be in the hospital for 5 days, and me and Dina will be taking turns staying with her because she won't be able to do things much for herself, or the next month, but we decided it was the best time before we started going to Sydney because after that, when Dina starts school and me overseas, it'd be too stressful for my mother. Bec's still coming around the 10th so I'll just take her around the city and not stress my mother out too much. With this however, I think I might not have that 18th birthday party. Having a nice dinner with my family on the real date would be great for me. Perhaps I could have a get together with friends but where would I go? Can't have it at home cause mum needs to recover, so nyah~

Today was a quiet day just resting, and watching Dina play Assasin's Creed, which is a kickass game. And we found out an old friend of my parents' finally passed away yesterday night. She had been on a support system since friday but she was brain dead so her family pulled the plug. When I heard the story I was quite sad, and pissed off at the stupid MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT. Seriously, when the trial comes, our country deserves it. She, her husband and his mother were driving home to KL. There were two parked trailers on the highway and she didn't see it (obviously no warning signs) so she crashed head first into a trailer. Her husband and mother-in-law suffered minor injuries but she got the brunt of the accident. Her husband called an ambulance. He demanded they drive to Pantai Ayer Keroh Hospital but it was a government ambulance and they had to go to a government hospital. The man is a doctor, there were no basics in the ambulance. They get to the hospital but there isn't a bed in the Emergency Room. He pleads to bring her to Pantai but by the time they got there, it was 3.15am. The accident occured around 12.40am. She was pronounced brain dead by then, no oxigen to the brain. I was quite upset for the family. The father was in denial for the first few days. I would be too, you know, if you wanted to go somewhere and you're a doctor yourself but you couldnt do anything about it. He waited for his family to come back from their studying overseas before they decided to pull the plug. The government deserve to be sued, it's gonna be a big case. What kind of COUNTRY doesnt have basic facilities in an ambulance!? And there are other things I could criticise about it but I won't.

Tomorrow Im meeting Ivan Chee, Ivan Chong and Ew-Jun at Megamall. It'd be good. I'm kinda thinking of changing blogging servers, like Rae cause I doubt Ill be changing skins in the near future anymore and Im kinda getting bored of my current one. Will post soon about it though. Cheers xx

Happy Thanksgiving! Part 2

Shaz FM: Baby I Love You by Jennifer Lopez
Feeling: Somewhat annoyed but good

So where was I? Right, the wedding. Got there and there were heaps of people around already. I got confused with the setting. I've never been there before! So I was like, "Uh, is this the altar?" XD It was makeshift but the setting was beautiful. I spent a good 30 minutes practising on the piano silently. I'll admit I stuffed up on the song haha. It was hard! Cause there was this stair setting and the piano was facing the opposite direction of the altar. So I had to have someone tell me what to do and when to start/stop. Not my fault cause we didn't practice this at all! Luckily Nelson and Shufen were really sweet about it. I even got paid $50 for it :)

There was a reception after that and OMG, Shufen's wedding dress was beautiful! It was so simple but wow, I loved the detail so much. I took heaps of photos (Yet again, FB!). The dinner started around 8, and through the speeches and walkthroughs, the dinner didn't really end till like 11.30pm haha. It was good though. My table was awesome. We were having fun, making conversation and drinking wine. Hazel got kinda drunk after one glass lol. It was kinda funny cause she was laughing really loudly and we'd all look away laughing cause everyone was staring! The dinner was yummy too. For 40 tables, sharksfin and abalone would cost a bomb! We started getting drunk towards the end. Well not me really, I had about 2 glasses of wine and lots of coke. There were a lot of kampai and yamsing going on haha. Our table and the one on the opposite end were pulling all of the stops. It was a great night.

Got some pictures with the bride and groom, my guardians and my friends. I even held the bouquet haha. We didn't leave till 12.20am lol. Thank god I only needed to wake up like at 8 the next day. I managed to see Eliza before she went off to school. I went out to school for a bit to pick up formal photos as well as to make sure I get the school magazine plus the Year 12 DVD. U. Albert sent me to DFS to catch my bus. I was cursing a lot because I thought I wouldn't be able to bring back those two bags but somehow I survived. I was beat though. Luckily I had the ipod, but I think they were rushing, cause we didnt get water and they played the same thing 3 times running lawl. Got home, and just basically relaxed cause I was so tired!

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day. I didnt get out of bed till like 12.30pm, to go out with my mum and A. Ann to go eat Ikan Bakar. Yummeh! Oh funny story while we were having fun. Guess what happened to Dina? She got caught in the shower naked with a towel because the screw came loose! She was stuck in the shower for an hour and a half! O__O Michelle only found her after Dina didnt pick up the phone after 15 times calling XD It has to be funny when it doesn't happen to you. At least she got stuck, not have the whole thing crashing on you, like it did to me last year. It was a different door. So now the shower is doorless so if we want to shower, we go downstairs to my parents' room or Adam's. Stayed home and relaxed, until we had that thanksgiving dinner. Shiet, I've never been that stuffed in my life. I felt sick XD It was good though, but I felt sick. I went out with my mum, A. Ann and Maha (cousin) after that for drinks. Of course I didn't drink, because dad said I could go as long as I had no alcohol. The convo went a bit funny though:

Me: Ayah, can I go out with Mummy? She said to ask you.
Dad: Ok, but no alcohol.
M: It's ok! I can wait two weeks.
D: For what?
M: My birthday.
D: I know.

I'd be a bit worried if he didn't remember if it was my birthday (You should know why!). Went to Chilis and just chilled there for a bit. We were all exchanging old stories and drunk stories. NEWSFLASH! Stewardess' are wild creatures, including my mother. I was laughing so much it bloody killed me XD I think that's where my rebelness comes from. I know some of the people that mum mentioned and its so hard to imagine them doing those things, but hey! They were once just like us. It was a bit amusing imagining my mother drunk though XD, but much more hilarious hearing about my dad drunk. I have another story to add to my collection. The first story I heard was two years ago when my parents and Dina were in Japan. They had gone out for karaoke and dad was beyond drunk. He was singing horribly (he normally can sing pretty well) the YMCA song out in the street at 3am LOL! The new story is that one of my mum's friend who I know got my dad drunk on a flight lmao. Dad was supposed to meet mum at a transfer point on his flight. The first transfer, dad was on the flight with A. Rogaya, and he was drinking a lot of whisky, until she put vodka in his whisky lmao. When mum finally got on the flight, dad was wiped out cold XDDDD. God, I love my parents, despite their annoyances (Like that makes them parents without it). After that we went to La Bodega to have coffee. Hot chocolate ftw!

Today Dina and me went to Megamall. We had lunch then walked around for a bit. I got my gift for Kira \o/ We even went to watch Bee Movie, which was randomly hilarious. There are so many kinky jokes in there, its mad. No wonder it was given a rating of 3 stars. The review I read said that it was more an adult movie then a kids movie. I couldn't agree any less. Got a bit annoyed cause mum was nagging me about getting a picture frame for Adam and about the photo which she was supposed to do while I was in Singapore or at least me doing it before I leave. Put a small stop onto my great mood today. Dad's going to print the photo so I don't have to deal with it. I still want to check out the Gardens, the new mall next to MV, and Zara. Im thinking of doing that on Tuesday morning (as well as these two shops in Telawi), or I could just go to Sungei Wang *shrugs* We'll see.

We're having Louisiana dinner today, which is spicy salty goodness haha. It's A. Ann's last night in KL and it's gonna be a nice dinner. I might be spending some time with Ivan Chee and Ew-jun next week, maybe even Jian, seeing if they don't go Dota on me XD. Note! Carl's Junior is in KL, on the 3rd floor of MV. I'm sure you lot haven't had it yet so you must. The burgers are huge and can kill you :P That's all for now. Oh yeah, I have an interview with RSGC on Monday. Formal office attire pssh XD. Cheers xx

Happy Thanksgiving! Part 1

Shaz FM: With Me by Sum-41
Feeling: Tired

11 days since I've last posted, and a lot has happened since then too -_- Ok so here goes:

You know last Monday was formal, yeah? A pretty awesome day I must say. Relaxed in the morning before me and mum went to Junction 8 to get me nails done. Didn't bother with hair cause I figured I could just go with the flow. Oosh (the place where the formal was being held) was bloody gorgeous! Everyone looked excellent and were all already sipping away on wine and beer. The food was bloody amazing as well. Ate so much pasta haha. The night seemed to go by slowly but fun at first then before you knew it, it was midnight. Some of my friends were beyond drunk XD Hilariousness. I did one vodka shot with Bec to represent our friendship over the last 2 years and had a little of cocktails but I wasnt drunk. I did however have the decency to bring Bec home after her drinking fest lol. Got home and just went to bed. Oh, I did my makeup too :P

The next day was spent walking around to random places and catching up with my mother. We watched The Game Plan ft. The Rock. OMG! The funniest movie I've seen in a while. He's a pretty good actor, and his singing is pretty good too. The storyline was sweet as well. After that, I went to Bec's place to eat dinner and hang before I went for my Linkin Park concert. HOLY CRAP, THAT WAS AWESOME! It started an hour later but DAMN! Worth all my money. Obviously I should have just spent like 30-50 dollars more and doshed it out in the mosh pit but I was only using my own money and I didnt have enough. I had a seated ticket but my booth was ghey. People didnt really want to stand up cause they had the chairs. I was a bit shy at first but then I thought 'Stuff this, Ive paid this much' and stood up and head banged and sang my way through the concert. So much for headbanging responsibly though, my head was aching the next day XD BUT IT WAS SO TOTALLY WORHT IT.

The next day, we woke up early (although my body refused to even get up) and packed a little. Damn, I don't know how much stuff I had. We filled 4 bags and still it wasn't enough! We each had a carry-on bag (we were flying), a suitcase and our handbags. Oh yeah, not forgetting my laptop bag -__-. Mind you, my handbag was one of those big leather bags which had a bit of my stuff in there too. Our flight got cancelled lol, but we managed to transfer to an earlier flight. Got home and just had a quiet night in because parents had a night out. The next night was used with a nice roast beef dinner. I spent the next few days, stressing out about playing the piano at Nelson and Shufen's wedding. I bought the book on friday and only started practising on saturday when the wedding was on Tuesday! I was happy I wasnt bringing my laptop down this time around. On Sunday, we went out for lunch at Eest, which was fabulous. After that, me and mum were dropped off at Sungei Wang to look for pressies for my cousins, Michelle and Danny. Btw, my aunt Ann is down, and has been for the past month. She's leaving this saturday though.

I was also looking for a wedding present. I was checking out some of the shops in Sungei Wang and damn~ I most definitely want to go shopping. I'm supposed to look for some christmas gifts. I got some money from SG so I can convert that and get some dosh.

Monday was travelling back to SG day. Took the 7.30am bus from MV. I didnt want to bring my iriver cause its USB-charged and the storage is shiet so I borrow Dina's ipod shuffle which helped. I had a book but I entertained myself by texting Rae. Arrived around 1pm and stayed in Orchard for a good 3 hours. Nelson came down cause he had to meet a friend so I just walked around. The night was a pretty nice one. Spent it watching TV with Eliza. The next day was tiring, but it had to be one of the best days I have had in my life.

Woke up at 6am with a nice wakeup text from Milan. I was already hearing voices at 6am downstairs. You know why? Because it's Nelson and Shufen's wedding day! They had a traditional chinese wedding start so it meant Nelson and his best men (otherwise known as 'the Brothers') had to go to Shufen's house. The men have to do anything the 'sisters' tell them to do. This included drinking something horrid with blue colouring, wasabi crackers, wearing old granny underwear over their suits and paying a sum of $699 to the sisters before Nelson got to see Shufen. I was out of the house by 7am cause I had to meet Dr. Lai Poh San, one of dad's close friends for a blood test (for Aus). I had to take the bus and MRT 15 stops from Toa Payoh to Dover. Dover is also the MRT station with the Singapore Polytechnic. I noticed in the morning that there were heaps of people off to work, and that those Poly students would be the same as me, all dressed up for a day in their course. Obviously Poly is different to Uni, but they wear normal clothes and even if they look simple, they all look good O__o

Anyway, took a drive to NUS (National University of Singapore) where Poh San showed me around. I was amazed at how huge the university was. They have a faculty for everything, dorms, gym and a HOSPITAL. Poh San was head of Research for the NUS Department of Paediatrics, and she's responsible for finding cures and treating those with diseases. This included the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) disease, which is the disease Adam has. Before we took the blood test, she worked with me through what their research does and what they find. She's a soft spoken person but the things she thought me were great. I felt like I knew more about my brother's condition, and how it came about and the things that they're doing. I've met her before but it was only that day that I really realised that this woman was yet another role model for me, just like Adam and my dad were. She opened my eyes to things that my parents have done, and being a foolish little young adult, I should really be more appreciative for what my parents have sacrificed to get us where we are now. They took my blood, but we did it as research, so that we didnt have to pay. This would also see if I might or might not be a carrier. It's a gene pool thing. Females do not get DMD but the son of a carrier has a 50% chance of developing the disease. It is currently an uncurable disease and DMD patients have a lower life span. I try not to get annoyed with my brother because I know he's suffering a little with the condition. Here's a bit of info on her research.

After all the tests, Poh San took me out for breakfast. Over it, we talked about travelling. Oh man, I was so interested and jealous(!) for the things she's seen and been to. She's gone to all those places, China, Cambodia, Europe, Taipei etc. The stories she told me were fascinating. I love travelling and the stories people tell. She's known my dad for a long time and I greatly appreciate having my parents as well, my parents. Despite their flaws, they're still great people and I can only strive to reach their level and teach what I've learnt to my own children, when the time comes. I finished with her around 11 so I had a bit of time to kill before I went back home. I decided to go to Marina Square to look around. Got a chrimbo present for Dina so now there's the rest of my family, Kira's birthday, Milan, Rae, my other friends rawr. I even watched a movie (Bratz lawl). I even had a little time to pay Bec a visit. After that, I rushed back home around 4 to get ready for the wedding. Was going earlier to test out the piano.

This concludes Part 1 of my recaps. I should go have my Thanksgiving dinner now. We have turkey and pumpkin pie. When you have an American Aunt, go with the flow! I'll post back after that on the wedding, yesterday and today :) Cheers xx.

Wouldn't It Be Good

Shaz FM: Superman by Lazlo Bane
Feeling: Kinda Tired

The first thing I should really try to do is not aggravate my mother on the phone. She starts raising her voice and I always end up lowering the volume and putting the phone away from my ear. She's coming down tomorrow to help me pack as well as do preps for formal. I think I'm gonna let her do my face makeup but I wanna do the eyes. I'm gonna make her use my makeup too, cause I look at my previous photos and I look like a freaking ghost, cause her makeup is too light for me. I've been practising the eye makeup so I'm just going to do it my way. I am not allowing her to chaperone me to formal. Yeah that's right, my dad told her to. I'd look like the biggest loser ever. I told her that I paid the non-alcoholic price and that this is a Year 12 ONLY event but she thinks that someone will try and give me alcohol and get my drunk... 1) I know these people better than she does, 2) I trust them, 3) they're not really trusting me are they?

I've gone out with friends who've drank infront of me, and do they see me getting drunk? I've never gotten drunk in my life and I'm never going to. At most I've drank is 2 drinks, and even when there's heaps of alcohol, I'll pass. I went to my first house party and there were lots of alcohol there but I only drank a Breezer. There was sheisha but I didn't smoke it. My friends smoke and I don't. I'd really wish my parents would trust me. They've given me trust since Ive been here but don't burst my bubble now, when Im about to leave Singapore for life, to ruin it for all my friends there having fun. Another reason I don't want mum to go is cause I don't want her to see some of my classmates getting wasted. She being here means Im not going out to an afterparty or buying drinks for myself so I save money and keep her happy. I just have to tell her to stay home and relax, or go out to Orchard or something and leave me alone! :P

Only two full days left :O Oh yesterday was my last outing with my CB friends. It was quite an interesting night. Don't want to go into much detail but I'll definitely miss them heaps. I went to a Lolita shop. OMG, dressing up in that gear is the most fun. It's like escapism. I wanted to get a lolita dress so badly but I knew my parents would kill me. When I get to Sydney, Liam wants me to cosplay with his group of friends and I'd love to haha.

I think I should go to bed soon, especially if I wanna be awake tomorrow night. Ive already started charging my camera and stuff haha. Cheers xx

Love the only

Shaz FM: Whispers in the Dark by Skillet
Feeling: Stuffed!

I just had dinner so~ The last four days have been rather relaxed. Extension yesterday was fairly good but I really hurt my wrist because of it. Speed writing ftl! Thankfully my exam on tuesday doesn't require mass essay writing. It feels better today. I need to make sure that I'll be able to write essays next friday though when I have drama.

Yesterday, after Extension I went to Funan with Holly. I thought I had to install another 512mb RAM into my computer because when I had to reformat it at Toshiba, they said that it wasn't working and one of them wasn't covered by warranty. Holly helped me out by going to Challenger and we found out that both of them work. I was happy because I saved $100 but I was a bit bummed cause I had to carry my laptop all over the place haha. I had dinner with Holly and we caught up on things. She was also looking at small cheap HD-ready TVs when she goes off to college.

Today I just stayed at home and studied Chinese. I went out to Toa Payoh for a bit just to get dinner as well as to just have a look at things. I spent some money on make-up haha. I have $300 for the 11 days I'm here. I need to spend $45 of that for valedictory photos. And I think I need at least $200 for the last four days :/ I mean I'm going out on friday for sure. Then there's after the formal too, drinking, going out whatever. There's also cab money to think about. That reminds me, I've got a list going so I better relook at that, so I roughly know how much money I should leave aside. I've already started packing a bit, I've already filled a suitcase with most of my clothes. It's not that heavy so I'm thinking I'll leave that here to take back when I come back to Singapore for Nelson's wedding. I have one more hard suitcase, which I'll use to put most of my books and remaining gear. Mum's coming down next sunday with another suitcase, to take some things back. We'll sort it out then. My parents are going to Seoul, South Korea tomorrow night for 5 days. So lucky~ Hopefully mum buys me something haha.

I still think that 3 suitcases isnt enough lol. And I'm sure that my mum will be telling me off for the many things that I've bought, which I can all hide...except the big bag I bought lol. Tiramisu is waiting for me whee, so that's all for now. Ta xx
