Seeing the tiny pieces
Shaz FM: Me and You by Cassie
Feeling: Normal

"The body was placed in the lounge with the head area of the kapan un-knotted for viewing. Lots of cuzzin-muzzins visited the house throughout the morning. My mum could not travel but sent her salam. Tuanku Sultan Kedah & Sultanah arrived at Lorong Kelompang at about 12.30hrs and paid their last respects. Then, the children and spouses, nephews & nieces, grandchildren & greatgrandchildren paid their final respects by mainly kissing her on the forehead before the kapan (head area) was re-knotted for burial." - Ezani Abu Bakar (My uncle, dad's side)

Hajjah Hosna Bt Ismail passed away on Friday night 27 January 2006 at 7.20pm at the Kuala Trengganu General Hospital. She was 84 years old. Alfatihah. She was my Grand Aunt, whom I would normally call Tok Umi. The sister of my grandmother,Tok Mummy (dad's side). It seemed like it was only yesterday that I saw her but how time can dissapear beneath our feet. A little part of the email I received from my uncle. Muslim burials are very different to western ones and there is a big process before the deceased is burried. I have not been to a burial because I was very young the last time it occured..but when in KL,I wont hesistate to follow my parents to pay respect to the dead,a tradition since I can remember..it sometimes makes me sad when Im in Singapore because I'm losing valuable time with the relatives whose time might come soon.

It got me thinking of how big my family really is and of all the connections we have. I have a big number of relatives, thanks to my mum and dad's big family so I still find it amazing to know when there are many powerful/famous figures to whom have great respect for my older relatives.

With school life, Im experiencing new things and some old things are coming back so its gonna be a very interesting 3 terms. There was a dragon dance today which was very fascinating. With all the problems lately, I should try not to over-exert myself about them. Life is too short to worry all the time about it. That's all for now..ta.
